Philips S7221 5G Arrives in India Packing a 6.67-Inch Display and 5,700mAh Battery
Philips returned to the Indian smartphone market by introducing an affordable device featuring a large 120Hz screen, long battery life, and high-resolution camera hardware.

Philips recently re-entered the Indian smartphone competition by launching the Philips S7221 5G. Known widely for consumer appliances, the brand is targeting the budget hardware segment with this new release. The device focuses on delivering long battery life, a large viewing area, and high-resolution photography without commanding a premium price tag. Buyers can already purchase the phone through Amazon India.
Pricing and Storage Options
The company positioned the phone to compete directly against other budget Android devices. The base model, which includes 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage, retails for Rs 20,499. Shoppers needing more memory can select the 8GB RAM version, which also features 128GB of storage, for Rs 22,499. The device ships in three distinct colors: Black, Blue, and Grey. Choosing a 6GB base memory limit helps the device run modern applications smoothly, avoiding the performance bottlenecks often seen on cheaper 4GB phones.
Display and Processing Hardware
The front of the phone carries a 6.67-inch HD LCD screen that runs at a 720 by 1600 pixel resolution. This panel supports a 120Hz refresh rate, ensuring that scrolling through menus and social media feeds feels fluid and highly responsive. Under the hood, an octa-core Spreadtrum T765 processor, also known as the Unisoc T765, handles all computing tasks. This chip competes directly against the MediaTek Dimensity 6300 found in similar devices like the Realme P4R and OPPO K14. Out of the box, the phone runs on Android 16. The manufacturer has not completely detailed how many future software updates the device will receive.
Camera Setup and Battery Specifications
For photography, the rear panel houses a 64-megapixel main camera. The software includes artificial intelligence scene detection and a portrait mode designed to produce images with blurred backgrounds. The front cutout holds a 16-megapixel camera for video calls and selfies.
A massive 5,700mAh battery keeps the hardware running. When the power runs low, the device supports 25W fast charging. The phone also features an IP64 rating, meaning it can survive light water splashes and dust exposure. A side-mounted fingerprint scanner secures the device while keeping the back panel completely clean.
